Day 2- Properties of Motion Workshop Day

On Monday, students got a wake up call at 5:15 a.m. by Mrs. Suazo (me) in order to have breakfast at 6:00 and make it to the Properties of Motion Workshop scheduled for 7:15 a.m. at Magic Kingdom. Everyone looked so excited and happy to see me when I knocked on their doors. Properties of Motion is a workshop that casts students in the role as scientists as they explore the physics concept of mechanics. The students learned about potential and kinetic energy, forces, motion, and gravity in hands on activities and then on selected Magic Kingdom attractions. A highlight for the children was going on Space Mountain with the lights on!!! After the workshop, the students spent the day touring Magic Kingdom with their friends and chaperones!

  1. This is my favorite workshop that I did. I LOVED it because I got to rie Space Mountain, and I felt like my head would hit a pole with the lights on. When they were off, I was fine. It was still so cool! I learned so MUCH so now I think that I'm a properties-of-motion-genius. LOL to our funny host. This was the very best field trip ever, and just because of this day. THANK YOU EVERYBODY AT DISNEY AND MRS. SUAZO AND MRS. HERBERT!!!!!! I really love this one day so it almost made my whole year.

  2. Ugh. It was SO hard to wake up. It was worth it though. I was awestruck at the sight of my first sight of Magic Kingdom. (Even though I've been there ten times before)Though the lesson was good. Though at first it was a little distracting because Chip and Dale were doing photos and autographs two feet away from us :).(we weren't allowed to stop and say hello) But riding Space Mountain with the lights on and off didn't seem very different. I wish that we could have held water because I wanted to see what would happen to it. I liked our "teacher" Ralph because he was very funny. I had an awesome time on my first day at Disney.
